Request a Free Smoke Alarm

If you live in unincorporated Hillsborough County and don't have a working smoke alarm, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue will install one for you at no cost. We also offer special alarms for the deaf and hard of hearing and children with special needs to those who qualify.

• More than 3,000 lives are lost every year in home fires
• Many of these deaths occur in homes without working smoke alarms
• The smell of smoke may not wake a sleeping person
  • poisonous gases produced by fire can numb the senses and put you into a deeper sleep
• Working smoke alarms can:
  • give your family valuable time to escape
  • reduce loss of life during a home fire by 50 percent
